BSM Treble Boosters

The BSM family of treble boosters: effects used to push those late '60s-early '70s tube amps into pure sonic heaven!

CALL or EMAIL for PRICE!!

The HS Treble Booster is identical to the much sought after Hornby Skewes unit (manufactured in England in the late 60’s) used by Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple) both live and in the studio. As the original, the unit uses the European OC44 germanium transistor. The result of the Hornby Skewes into a good tube amplifier is evident on the Deep Purple in Rock and Made in Japan recordings.

The OR Treble Booster is identical to the Orange Treble & Bass booster made in the late 60's in England, as used by David Gilmour in Pink Floyd. When used with a good tube amp, the unit is capable of producing the tone which helped create epochal masterpieces such as "Dark Side of The Moon"(1973). The long yearned for new edition, now issued under the name OR from BSM, uses the same OC76 germanium transistors as the the original 1960's version. The OR model includes a tone control which allows an extraordinary amount of tonal versatility. When set to maximum, the unit produces a very glassy tone. When a middle setting is dialed in, the result is a punchy tone with a mids emphasis. When set to minimum, the unit produces a very bassy tone with a fat bottom end.

The RM Treble Booster is identical to the prized Dallas Rangemaster unit (manufactured in England in the 60’s) used by Eric Clapton in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and early Cream (both live and in the studio), as well as Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi and Queen's Brian May. As the original, the unit uses the European OC44 germanium transistor and is fitted with a side mounted volume control. The result of the Rangemaster into a good tube amplifier is evident on the Bluesbreaker's "Beano" recording (into a JTM45), and the earler Queen recordings (into a Vox AC30), among others.

The RM Metal Treble Booster circuit is identical to a 1969 Range Master (same as the BSM RM model) that Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi had "tweaked" and used from the Paranoid album period and onwards. As the original, the unit uses the European OC44 germanium transistor and is fitted with a side mounted volume control. The result of the modified Range Master into a good tube amplifier is evident on Black Sabbath's Paranoid album (into a Laney stack).
